Vaccine Information
Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer for BC, urges all British Columbians to get the updated influenza and COVID-19 vaccines ahead of the holiday season to protect themselves and others from severe illness. Influenza cases are rising, with H3N2 being the dominant strain, which can be more severe for older adults. Vaccination remains the best way to prevent respiratory illness and is recommended for everyone aged six months and older, especially high-risk groups.
Dr. Henry also advises people to stay home if sick, wear a mask if necessary, practice good hand hygiene, and cover coughs or sneezes with an elbow.
For vaccination information, register through the Get Vaccinated system or call 1-833-838-2323. Vaccines are available at public health clinics, pharmacies, and some doctors' offices.
